Main tasks and responsibilities
The Buyer is responsible to support the Head of Supply Chain, Asia in implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively improve the product costs to support the Global business plan. Requires a proactive and strategic sourcing professional with a passion for driving cost reduction exercises on a global scale.
? Responsible for sourcing fulfilment, supplier development, and global supplier partnerships.
? Develop and execute strategies for identifying and developing suppliers on a global scale to expand and diversify the supplier base.
? Monitor and evaluate geopolitical, regulatory, and market trends that impact global sourcing and supplier relationships.
? Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.
? Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements to the Organization.
? Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, reduce lead-times, logistic costs and improve overall supply chain resilience.
? Manage the entire qualification lifecycle of new suppliers, including requisition processing, purchase order creation for sample products and order tracking.
? Liaise with the Category Managers on the products specification’s requirements.
? Comply with company and local procedures applicable to the job function.
? Work closely with Head of Supply Chain, Asia aligning with Global targets in cost reduction exercises.
? Implement sourcing plans with the goal of assuring specified quality, meeting required delivery times, and minimizing cost.
? Conduct requests for information, quotation, information, proposal (RFI/Q/P) and bidding processes, minimizing risk and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery and cost.
? Select a high-performance supply base of preferred suppliers in accordance with the strategy defined by the Organization or Category Managers.
? Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery and cost objectives.
? Execute contract negotiation and development in coordination with Head of Supply Chain, Asia and Supplier’s Contract team.
? Drive the parts and process qualification in coordination with Qualification team.
? Document the performance of action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects.
? Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits and capability evaluation, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, to assure supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality and service.
? Any other assignments or tasks assigned to support business opportunity and cost reduction exercises.
Education and professional experience
? Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
? Min. 5 years of experience in Supply Chain related functions.
? Experience in pricing negotiation and contract establishment.
? Strong sense of urgency and attention to details.
? Bilingual in both English and Chinese is preferred.
? Proactive, excellent sourcing and negotiation skills
? Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving.
? Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
