Key Responsibilities:
1. Global Supplier Development
- Look for and identify suppliers of electronic and mechanical products in China and Asia.
- Conduct factory audits and quality assessments to ensure suppliers meet client specifications and ethical standards.
2. Client-Centric Sourcing
- Collaborate with clients to understand technical requirements (e.g., BOMs, CAD Drawing, Product Brief, Risk Level) and translate them into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Manage RFQ processes, negotiate pricing (MOQ-based discounts), and secure contracts aligned with client budgets and timelines.
3. Supply Chain Coordination
- Oversee end-to-end procurement: PO placement, production follow-up, shipment scheduling and customs clearance.
- Mitigate risks related to geopolitical disruptions, component shortages, or logistics delays.
4. Cost Saving
- Analyze market trends (e.g., semiconductor pricing, raw material fluctuations) to advise clients on cost-saving opportunities.
- Drive annual cost-reduction targets through supplier consolidation, value engineering, or alternative material sourcing.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure suppliers adhere to client-specific quality standards, IP protection, and sustainability requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, certifications, and compliance documentation.
6. Client & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the primary interface between clients, suppliers, and third-party inspectors (e.g., SGS, T05V).
- Provide regular updates on order status, supplier performance, and market intelligence.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- 3+ years in global sourcing/procurement, preferably in a buying office or trading company.
- Proven experience of electronic and mechanical products is a must.
- Proven track record in managing cross-border transactions (e.g., China-based suppliers for EU/US/AU clients).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting technical specs.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (e.g., Alibaba Trade Manager, Global Sources).
Soft Skills:
- Strong negotiation, cross-cultural communication
- Know-how of supply chain and ability of foreseeing risks.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Ability to multitask and cross-department cooperation.
- Team spirited.
Travel: Willingness to visit factories and attend trade fairs (e.g., Canton Fair).
